Hopping Along

13 walkers set off from Winster expecting a deluge of rain as predicted in the weather warning for the area but it didn’t arrive, much to the relief of everyone.

The 11.5 mile walk took in Upper Town Farm and Birchover Wood before stopping for a break at Hillary’s Seat on the approach to Robin Hood’s Stride. Cliff Farm and Hopping Farm came along quickly before lunch. After lunch it was Long Dale, Gratton Dale and Elton before the return to Winster along the Limestone Way where we heard the rumble of thunder but the rain only materialised once we were under cover.
