Walk Report
A group of 17 walkers set off from North Anston car park to pass through Anston Stones Wood, one of the best examples of ancient Limestone woodland in South Yorkshire with an abundance of tress and wild flowers. From here we headed out onto the hallowed turf of Lindrick Golf Club, a former Ryder Cup venue in 1957 – GB beat USA by 7.5 to 4.5. Then on to the Chesterfield Canal for our morning break. However, this did not stop many of us enjoying an ice cream at Turners Wood. Having crossed the Golf Course once more we had lunch in Woodsetts, where here was ample seating for all. Then finally back to North Anston, crossing arable farm land. Total distance was just over 9 miles
