Walk Report

A chatter of 14 ramblers defied the forecast and set off from Coal Aston on an 11 mile circular bluebell walk. We passed through the beautiful Frith Wood covered with a purple carpet of bluebells. Next up was Metapic Wood which contained a bizarre collection of artefacts and (rumoured) fairies. After our coffee break we did a circuit of the stunning Stubbin Wood and moved on to lunch at Manor Farm. The regular skeleton had vanished but the carvings and rhea’s were still on show. Monkeys and topiary were on display in Middle Handley. We returned to the car park via Troway and more bluebells in the Moss Valley. The weather was damp but not too wet
