Walk Report
Despite warnings of rain and storms 14 walkers undertook this walk from Rowsley heading out on a gentle start along The Derwent Valley Heritage Way towards Carlton Lees. It was then a steady ascent past Carlton Houses onto Carlton Pastures where we enjoyed some easy walking a lovely views.
A difficult descent through Manners Wood led us out across Bakewell Golf Course to join The Monsal Trail for some easy walking before stopping for lunch near the end of the trail.
The final stretch took us along a well made up path past Coombs Farm and above Haddon Hall until a final long descent back into Rowsley. After an enjoyable but testing route at times we arrived back at the cars without experiencing any of the predicted rain.
